1982 Hellinger Award Winner- Kevin Keenan

Kevin Keenan, the son of then-professor (and English Department Chair) Leo E. Keenan, was presented with the Mark Hellinger honors in 1982.

Keenan was active in radio from a very early age, initiating and hosting "Husky Half," a program for Olean-area high school students, in 1974. He continued in radio for several area stations, including WSBU on campus. Keenan also wrote for the Bonadieu and was a member of the Society for Professional Journalists. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army prior to graduation.
